Turbo V6 Intakes (RWD)

Casting Numbers

1978-80 (Pre-ECM) intakes - Pictured below in the 1979 Carb/Turbo RWD intake manifold.  The 1978 intake should be essentially the same.  The 1980 intake is made of aluminum, but otherwise the same with the exception of the knock sensor mount, which was relocated to the block (just below the EGR valve).

  1. AIR Check valve
  2. Oil return grommet 
  3. Turbine mounting bracket
  4. EGR manifold and valve
  5. PCV grommet
  6. AC/Alternator support bracket mount
  7. Compressor mount
  8. PEVR (power enrichment valve regulator)
  9. Plenum support bracket
  10. Coolant sensor
  11. Knock sensor (accelerometer)
  12. Plenum coolant feed port
  13. Plenum coolant return port
  14. Thermal vacuum switch
  15. Vertical Thermostat Housing
  16. Torx intake manifold bolt location (to clear distributor)

 

1981-83 (ECM) intakes - Pictured below in the 1982/83 Carb/Turbo RWD intake manifold.  The 1981 intake is similar, but uses the EGR valve/manifold arrangement of the '79 intake above.
